Detailed Itinerary

After you arrive, you can take a taxi from the airport to any hotel in Kathmandu. Your Tamang heritage trail starts from Syabrubesi, the entrance point to famous treks like Gosaikunda and Langtang Valley Trek.

Day 1: Syabrubesi to Gatlang trek

Tamang heritage begins by trekking to Gatlang from Syabrubesi. Halfway through the trek, you’ll stop in a village called Ronga Bhangyang.

The trail continues through a route that provides beautiful views of the Ganesh Himal and Gosaikunda range. After another three hours of trekking, you’ll reach Gatlang, where you can visit Tamang monasteries and Parvati Kund.

Day 2: Gatlang to Tatopani

On your second day, you will trek from Gatlang to Tatopani. This day’s trek will be slightly more challenging than others. The trail continues through Chortens and forests to reach Tambuche and then Chilime.

You will arrive at Gongang village after passing through terraced fields and crossing suspension bridges. After you finally arrive at Tatopani, you can bathe in natural hot springs.

Day 3: Tatopani to Thuman

The Tatopani to Thuman trek passes through beautiful scenery. You’ll encounter authentic locals in Nagthali village, which lies at 3100 m. Nagthali is a beautiful little village with only a few houses, but you can find accommodation and meals in these houses.

After stopping at Nagthali, you can continue to descend towards Thuman. You’ll pass through a beautiful view of Langtang Himal during your descent.

Day 4: Thuman to Kanjim

On your fourth day of the Tamang heritage trek, you can have your early morning breakfast in Thuman. Thuman is a Tamang hamlet with breathtaking views and welcoming locals.

 Your goal for today is to reach Briddim. Trails descend to Timure, a former trade route to Tibet. After 5 to 6 hours of walking, you’ll reach Briddim, another Tamang village where you can find accommodation for the night.

Day 5: Briddim to Lama Hotel

Briddim to Lama Hotel is a 6-hour trek. On your way down, you’ll pass through rhododendrons and bamboo forests. If you are lucky, you can witness rare wildlife like red pandas. After reaching Lama Hotel, you’ll find tea house accommodations and meals.

Day 6: Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi decent

By day 6, you’ll almost be at the end of your short trek to the Tamang Heritage Trail. The trail continues through lush forests and traditional Tamang settlements. Pace yourself and enjoy your last day on the Langtang Tamang Heritage Trail.

Day 7: Syabrubesi to Kathmandu

Head back to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi with beautiful memories of the Tamang Heritage Trail trek.
