‘A motorcycle trip to Muktinath’ instantly shouts ‘adventure’ to all Nepalese and foreigners who have been there before. From lush green vegetation to a moonscape where the altitude dictates our pace, Muktinath no doubt feels worlds apart.

Muktinath, a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists alike, lies in the Muktinath valley and on the lap of one of the most treacherous passes in Nepal -Thorong La Pass. For Hindus, it is the place of Salvation and liberation; Buddhists believe that the founder of Tibetan Buddhism,’ Guru Rimpoche,’ also known as Padmasambhava, meditated here on his way to Tibet.

Our journey starts from the lake city of Pokhara, and goes through the Thakali village of Marpha and all the way to Muktinath-the gateway to the only remaining forbidden kingdom in Nepal, Lo- Manthang Lo Manthang-The forbidden kingdom.
