Overview

Treks in Nepal usually include accommodation in lodges with basic facilities. However, the Everest luxury trek consists of the best possible accommodation. This trek ensures that the trekkers experience the raw beauty of the trail of the Himalayas without compromising comfort and elegance. From accommodations in premium lodges to personalized services, this trek is catered to those who want to experience the thrill of the Everest region while enjoying world-class amenities. Whether gazing at the snow-white peaks or relaxing at your premium lodge, this trek ensures you travel in style. Everest luxury trekking takes you to the foot of the tallest mountain in the world and face-to-face with Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, and Mt. Cho Oyu.

Our Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek begins with a 35-minute flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Upon arrival in Lukla, we will trek just a few hours to reach Phakding. The next day, we continued our trek to Namche Bazaar, a bustling tourist town at an impressive 3,440 meters. The trail is made alive by musk deers, Himalayan thar, snow leopards, and pheasants. We have additional acclimatization day stops in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche. On the way to Tenboche, we quickly stop at Tengboche monastery, the biggest monastery in the Khumbu region. The trail follows to Dingboche and Lobuche, where we encounter several glacial moraines. The following day, we reach the base of the worldโ€™s tallest peak, and this is the most intimate you will be with the mountain unless you want to climb it.

Everest Luxury Trek difficulty

The Everest Luxury Trek is rather long and demanding. The average walking duration is 6-7 hours each day. However, you can spend an extra day at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche to acclimate. The average walking distance is around 12 kilometers. We reach an elevation of 5,555 meters, so one needs to be decently fit to enjoy this trip fully. The higher you go, the colder it gets in the Himalayas, especially from Tengboche, so make sure you carry ample clothes to take on the chilly cold.

Difference between Everest Luxury Trek and Everest Base Camp Trek

The Everest luxury trek and the Everest base camp trek take you to the foot of the tallest mountain in the world. The trail leading to the base camp for both itineraries is the same. However, you will travel in style by taking the Everest Luxury trek. In most trekking regions in Nepal, the lodges on the trail and amenities are essential. Due to the remote locations of the trekking areas in Nepal, transporting the goods is a task. Despite that, the Everest trek is one of the most popular and traveled destinations worldwide and has a few luxury offerings. So, there are luxury lodges for most of the part leading to the base camp of the worldโ€™s tallest mountain.

In the Luxury trekking, you will stay in the best available luxury lodges for your trip. For instance, you stay in Hotel Everest View, one of the highest places in the world, sitting at an impressive 3962 meters. Opened in 1971, the hotel has provided the best hospitality in those high mountains. But for the Everest Base Camp trek, you stay in the teahouses available throughout the trail. If you want more of a raw experience and want to see the lifestyle of the Sherpa people, you can opt for the Everest Base Camp teahouse trek. Not to be misunderstood, these teahouses also provide you with all the basic amenities and comfort that you need on the trail. But if you want a more abundant trek experience, you can opt for the Everest Luxury trek.

Food offerings during the trek

The Teahouses offer traditional food as well as some Western offerings. The menu can be very similar throughout the trek. As for local offerings, you can have Tibetan bread with potatoes, Dal Bhat (rice, lentils, and curry), momos (dumplings), and Thukpas (noodle soup), among others. But you will also be offered omelets, pancakes, toast, noodles, and others.

Guides and porters for the trek

The guides placed for the Everest Base camp trek will be government-licensed. And are seasoned professionals with proper know-how of the trail. In addition, they are well equipped with basic first aid kits and other essential medications that can come in handy in high altitudes. Most of the porters also hail from the very same Khumbu region and will meet the guests from Lukla. We follow the tourism board’s guidelines for the load one porter can carry.

Best time to trek in the Everest Region

March to May

March to May is an excellent time to trek in Nepal. It is the pre-monsoon season in Nepal, and you can find the flowers in full bloom. You can mostly see Rhododendrons on your trails. The daytime brings moderate temperatures, but the nights and mornings are usually cold and chilly. The temperature can reach -10 degrees Celsius at night, so you should carry ample warm clothes.

September to November

This is the busiest time of the year to trek in the Everest Region. The vegetation is lush green during this time of the year as it falls right after monsoon. The rain washes the dust away; thus, the sky is as clear as possible and offers splendid views of the snow-capped peaks. The
trails are crowded during this time of the year, so if you prefer solitude while trekking, consider late autumn or early winter.

My second trip in Nepal through Naata Travel and Adventures. The annapurna circuit trek was both challenging and super fun. Had travelled with my partner which made it even more amazing. Our guide Sandesh was a charm. He was there always asking if we were doing fine andย  helped bridge the gap between us and the locals. I would definitely recommend Naata Trek and Tours to anyone willing to come to Nepal.
