Itinerary
We will leave our hotel early in the morning for an exciting one-hour mountain flight. This flight will provide close-up aerial views of Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, and other majestic Himalayan peaks. Afterward, we will go on a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. We will visit four UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Kathmandu Durbar Square will captivate us with its ancient palaces. Visiting these places, you will see intricate art and architecture. Some famous places we visit are Pashupatinath Temple, a Hindu pilgrimage site, and an ancient Boudhanath Stupa. The vibrant atmosphere of Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, will further enrich our cultural exploration.
We will catch an early morning flight to Pokhara, the picturesque lake city, where we will enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas from our airplane’s right side. Upon arrival, we will rest briefly before driving to Naya Pul to begin our trekking adventure.
Our journey will lead us through sub-tropical valley forests and along cliff-side trails. Crossing the Modi Khola River via a suspension bridge, we will continue our trek to Tikhedhunga, where we will pause for lunch. The trail then ascends steeply towards Ulleri.
Starting from Ulleri, we will continue our trek. We will gradually ascend through lush rhododendron forests towards Banthanti. Passing through Nangethanti, a quaint village, we will trek for about an hour. Finally, we will reach Ghorepani, a serene town with panoramic mountain views. Here, we will settle in for the night at a cozy teahouse. We will enjoy hearty meals and camaraderie with fellow trekkers.
Today, we will wake up before sunrise to trek up to Poon Hill. Poon Hill is situated at an elevation of 3210 meters. The sunrise view from Poon Hill is famous for its breathtaking beauty. Furthermore, this place also provides us with a mesmerizing panorama of the Himalayan peaks glowing in the morning light. After enjoying the sunrise spectacle, we will descend to Ghorepani for breakfast.
Then, we will continue our trek. Following ridgeline paths through fragrant pine and vibrant rhododendron forests, we will pass by Deurali village. We will descend further until we reach Tadapani. Here, we will spend the night in a comfortable teahouse. We will reflect on the dayโs adventures amidst the tranquility of the Himalayan foothills.
From Tadapani, we will trek downhill to the charming village of Ghandruk. The Gurung people inhabit Ghandruk. We will be able to explore their rich ethnic culture and way of life. Ghandruk is famous for its stunning views of the Annapurna range. This makes it a favorite destination for short treks. We will visit the Annapurna Conservation Office and the Gurung Museum in the afternoon. We will spend the night in Ghandruk at a teahouse.
On the final day of our trek, we will walk back from Ghandruk to Nayapul. We will enjoy a downhill hike through beautiful landscapes until we reach Birethanti. From there, a short one-hour drive will take us back to Pokhara. We will have plenty of time to relax, shop, and enjoy the lakeside atmosphere of Pokhara. We can soak in the city lights and think about our trekking experience.
We will go to Sarangkot early in the morning in our private tourist vehicle. Sarangkot is famous for its panoramic views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. It’s ideal for watching stunning sunrises and paragliding adventures. After that, we will come back to Pokhara. We will continue our sightseeing tour of the city. We will visit prominent landmarks such as Davi’s Fall, locally known as Patale Chango. It has an intriguing history tied to a Swiss couple.
We will explore Shiva Cave, a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. We will also take a boat ride on Phewa Lake, which will take us to Barahi Temple. We will visit the International Mountain Museum (IMM). Here, we can learn about the history and development of mountaineering in the Himalayas and worldwide. Additionally, we will also visit a Tibetan refugee camp. We will spend the night in Pokhara at a 3-star hotel.
After breakfast, we will depart from Pokhara and drive towards Chitwan. The journey offers scenic views as we descend from Pokhara towards the Churia range. Chitwan is a significant tourist destination, famous for its Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arrival, we will embark on a jungle/nature walk in the national park, where we can encounter diverse flora and fauna, engage in bird watching, or visit a nearby Tharu village to learn about their culture and lifestyle. We will stay overnight in Chitwan at a 3-star hotel.
Today, we will have an adventurous day exploring Chitwan National Park. We will go on an elephant safari early in the morning through thick grasslands. We will watch wildlife in their natural habitat. After breakfast, we will visit the elephant stables and bathe the elephants. In the afternoon, we can explore the jungle more on a jeep safari or take a canoe ride down the Rapti River.
These activities allow us to see animals like deer, the endangered one-horn rhinoceros, and, if we’re lucky, the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger. Canoeing might also allow us to see gharial and mugger crocodiles, freshwater dolphins, otters, and many birds. Alternatively, we can choose bird watching or a nature walk to see the diverse wildlife and plants in the park. We will spend another night in Chitwan at a 3-star hotel.
In the early morning, we will enjoy birdwatching in Chitwan National Park. It’s famous for its many resident and migratory bird species. After breakfast, we will start our journey back to Kathmandu. The drive will first go through the Terai plains. It will gradually change to winding roads as we get closer to Kathmandu.
We will enjoy picturesque views of hills and the Trishuli River along the route. By evening, we will arrive in Kathmandu, where you will be escorted to your hotel. In the evening, Naata Trek and Tours will host a THANK YOU dinner to celebrate the successful completion of our Experience Nepal tour.
Today marks the conclusion of our journey together. A representative from Naata Trek and Tours will accompany you to the international airport for your departure. Additional Information
Best Time For Experience Nepal Tour
The best time for the Experience Nepal Tour and sightseeing is during Nepal’s busiest tourist seasons, spring and autumn. During these times, you will likely have clear mountain views, pleasant temperatures for outdoor activities, and generally good weather for traveling across Nepal. This includes city tours and visits to national parks.
From March to May, spring has mild temperatures and blooming rhododendrons in the hills. It offers clear skies, making it perfect for trekking and sightseeing. Similarly, autumn is famous for clear skies and moderate temperatures from September to November. It has stable weather conditions and is also ideal for trekking and enjoying panoramic views of the Himalayas.
While autumn and spring are best, other seasons have their attractions. Winter (December to February) brings cold temperatures but clear skies, offering stunning views with fewer tourists on the trails. Summer (June to August) is the monsoon season, with heavy rainfall that can affect trekking trails and wildlife activities. However, cultural tours and city sightseeing in places like Kathmandu and Pokhara can still be excellent ways to have a good time.
Choosing the best time for the Experience Nepal Tour depends on what weather you prefer, the trekking conditions, and what specific activities you want to do during your visit to Nepal.
Meals And Accommodations
During the Experience Nepal Tour, accommodations vary depending on where and what you’re doing. You’ll find a range of hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara, from cheap to fancy. They have comfy rooms with Wi-Fi, restaurants, and often views of the city or mountains. During trekking in places like Ghorepani and Ghandruk, you usually stay in teahouses or guesthouses along the trails. These places are simple but cozy, with beds, blankets, and places to eat together.
The tour includes a variety of dining experiences reflecting Nepal’s diverse culinary traditions. I ls are usually hearty and wholesome during treks in teahouses and guesthouses. It features local dishes such as dal bhat (rice and lentils), momos (dumplings), and Tibetan bread. These meals are designed to provide the necessary nutrition for the journey. Similarly, city restaurants offer a broader range of options from Nepali and Indian to Tibetan and international cuisines. They have options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians, so everyone can find something they like.
Permits Requires For 12 Day Nepal Tour
TIMS Card (Trekkers’ Information Management System):
The TIMS Card is needed to track and ensure that trekkers are safe in controlled areas. It helps authorities react faster if there’s an emergency and helps protect nature. You can get the TIMS Card at Nepal Tourism Board offices in Kathmandu or Pokhara or from trekking agencies that can issue them.
Cost: The cost varies depending on whether you’re trekking independently or with a guide, and it is approximately NPR 1,000 to NPR 2,000 per person.
ACAP Permit (Annapurna Conservation Area Permit):
The ACAP Permit is essential for entering and trekking in the Annapurna Conservation Area, including Ghorepani and Ghandruk. It helps protect nature and ensures tourism is done in a way that lasts. You can get the permit at Nepal Tourism Board offices in Pokhara or Kathmandu or from travel agencies that can give them out.
Cost: NPR 3,000 to NPR 3,500 per person for foreigners, with discounted rates for SAARC nationals.
National Park Permits:
National Park Permits are needed if you want to visit protected areas like Chitwan National Park, which is known for its wildlife and plants. These permits help save nature and control how visitors affect the environment. You can get National Park Permits when you enter the parks or at their main offices.
Cost: NPR 1,500 to NPR 3,000 per person, depending on the activities included (e.g., jungle safari, canoe ride)
How Hard Is 12 Day Nepal Tour?
The Nepal tour gives you a mix of moderate challenges and rewarding experiences. The trekking parts, especially from Day 3 to Day 7, involve medium to strenuous hikes on different kinds of land. This includes steep uphills and downhills. Trekking to places like Poon Hill at 3210 meters gives amazing views but needs you to have strength for going uphill. You typically walk 4 to 7 hours daily, which needs you to be fit. Altitude is essential to think about. Going up to 3210 meters requires you to get used to the altitude. This can help you manage mild altitude effects like feeling out of breath.
In addition to trekking, this trek also provides you with beautiful cultural sights to see in Kathmandu Valley. Exploring different World Heritage sites cannot be very challenging. We will take a private van to all the places. However, the traffic somehow creates delays. Similarly, you will not have to face the accommodation problem, as this city offers a variety of accommodation options. While the tour presents moderate physical challenges, it ensures a well-rounded experience blending adventure, cultural immersion, and natural beauty.
